Profile: Alexander enters his senior season with career averages of 8.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as well as a very strong field-goal percentage of .539. Although a bit undersized in the low post, he has been consistent and efficient on the offensive end. Alexander scored 8.1 ppg last year, which is second among returners. He was a part-time starter his first two years, and last year he played exclusively off the bench with 27 games played and no starts. He averaged a career-high 10.0 ppg as a freshman in earning a spot on the All-AMC Freshmen Team in 2008-09. He owns five 20-point games in his career including a career-high of 27.
2010-11: Alexander averaged 8.1 ppg to rank second among post players last year and his shooting percentage of .558 led the Pioneers. He provided scoring off the bench and had five games in double figures. His season high of 20 points came at Notre Dame (OH), and he also had eight rebounds. Other big games included 17 points at Houghton, and 14 points and nine rebounds at home versus Houghton.2009-10: Alexander started the first 12 games of the season and was averaging 10.5 ppg through the first 12 contests. For the year, he averaged 7.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game and shot 52% from the field. His season-high of 21 points came vs. Ohio Valley, and his career-high of nine rebounds were vs. PSU-Fayette. 2008-09: Alexander was one of three Point Park players to average double figures and he led the team in field-goal percentage at 54%. He earned a starting spot midway through the year and started 13 of the last 14 games. He scored in double figures 10 times including four 20-point games. Alexander had a career-high 27 points on 11-for-14 shooting at Daemen. He set a school record for FG pct. in a single game with 25 points on 12-for-12 shooting vs. Cumberlands (Ky.). He registered a career high of nine rebounds at Shawnee State.
High school: A 2008 graduate of McKeesport High School…was a three-time WPIAL all-section performer…totaled over 1,300 points and 800 rebounds in his career as a three-year starter…helped the Tigers to three WPIAL section titles and a No. 1 ranking in the Post-Gazette’s Class-AAAA ratings.
