#11 JOSH POHLOT
Forward/Guard, 6-4, 185 lbs., Freshman
Belle Vernon, Pa. / Belle Vernon Area HS
Profile: Pohlot is a 6-4 swing player who averaged nearly a double-double of 18.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in his final year of high school. A standout player at Belle Vernon HS, Pohlot has the ability to play in the post and also step out to the perimeter. A key for him this year will be his adjustment to the college game, particularly from a physical stand point. Pohlot is expected to contribute as a backup post player this year, and as he develops over the next four years, he has a lot of potential to be a strong player for the Pioneers. Pohlot possesses a long wing span and good jumping ability that allow him to be a factor on interior defense and on the offensive boards.
High school: Pohlot scored over 1,000 points for his career and was a three-time, all-section player at Belle Vernon. He capped off his career by averaging 18.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in leading the Leopards to a 17-7 record and a playoff berth. He shot 51% from the floor and made 28 3-pointers. One of the top players in the Greensburg area, Pohlot was named the Tribune-Review Terrific 10 team. He played in the Kenny Durrett All-Star Game and the Mid-States Roundball Classic. Pohlot led all scorers with 16 points in the latter all-star game to give Pennsylvania a 102-99 win over Maryland. An excellent student Pohlot earned high honors in high school.
