Transfer Steve Veydt signs with Point Park University men's golf and head coach Gabe Bubon.

PITTSBURGH – The Point Park University men’s golf team got a commitment from transfer Steve Veydt, a Cecil, Pa., native who comes from Spring Arbor University. Veydt, a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, will join the Pioneers as a sophomore this coming fall of 2011.

Veydt had a scoring average of 82.7 while playing his freshman season at Spring Arbor, an NAIA school located in Spring Arbor, Mich. One of his best performances last year came at the Shawnee State Invitational in March when he shot 73-79 to place in a tie for sixth individually.

“Steve is a great fit for our program, and he has a year of college experience under his belt,” said Gabe Bubon, who has been Point Park’s head coach the last two years. "We are glad to add him to the team."
