Point Park stands 10th of 19 teams after first round of Allegheny Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Point Park University men's golf team is in 10th place of 19 teams after the first round of the Kuhn Invitational hosted by Allegheny College on Sunday.
The Pioneers shot 318 as a team and are in the middle of the pack entering Monday's final round. There are 18 holes scheduled for Monday, and Point Park is in the group of teams that tees off a 8:30 a.m.
Point Park junior Austin Elder sits in a tie for seventh place individually after his opening-round 75 (+3) on Sunday. Elder is five shots back of the leader Jack Uecker of Wittenberg, the only player under par at 70 (-2).
Wittenberg has a comfortable lead in the team standings at 295 followed by Rochester at 304 and Wooster at 306.
Point Park's other competitors are James Daley (79), Chris Bowen (81), Alejandro Bernardini (83) and Billy Wivell (84).
Point Park is ahead of a couple of AMC schools in the field. The Pioneers are four shots better than Roberts Wesleyan (12th place) and five shots better than Daemen (13th).
