LIBERTY, Ind. -- Point Park University men's golf will go for a three-peat as KIAC champions at the 2015 KIAC Men's Golf Tournament April 24-25 at Liberty Country Club in Liberty, Ind.
The 54-hole tournament gathers the KIAC's six men's golf teams with the conference champion earning an invitation to the NAIA national championship May 19-22 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Point Park, winners of the last two KIAC Tournaments since joining the conference in 2013, is going for its fourth straight conference title overall dating back to its 2012 AMC title. The Pioneers have been to the NAIA national tournament the last two years and have two players returning from the 2014 team that made it there, seniors Collin Holmes and Eric Poplowski.
Joining Holmes and Poplowski in the lineup for Point Park will be junior Diego Ortiz, freshman Max Kaminsky and senior Ben Kennedy. Head coach Gabe Bubon is in his sixth year.
This year's KIAC Tournament will be played at the 6,375-yard, Par 70 layout of Liberty Country Club. There will be 36 holes on April 24 beginning at 9:30 a.m., and the final round will be 18 holes on April 25 at 8 a.m. A frost advisory for the morning of April 24 has delayed the scheduled start time of 8 a.m. for the first-round action.
