Point Park men’s golf takes 8th of 12 at Guy Kuhn Invite hosted by Allegheny

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Point Park University men’s golf placed eighth of 12 teams at the Guy Kuhn Invitational hosted by Allegheny College Sunday and Monday at The Country Club at Meadville.
The Pioneers were in seventh place after opening up with a team score of 317 on Sunday but slid back one spot in the final standings by shooting 327 in Monday’s final round.
Tying for 27th place in the individual standings were Point Park’s Eric Poplowski (77-83) and Diego Ortiz (79-81), who both shot 160 over 36 holes. Ben Kennedy (81-81) and Max Kaminsky (80-82) both tied for 34th at 162, and Noah Zamagias (82-83) placed tied for 48th of 77 golfers at 165. Michael Popovec (83-80) competed as an individual.
Washington & Jefferson won the tournament by 10 strokes with scores of 298-305. Second-place Gannon shot 308-305. St. Vincent (307-307) placed third behind individual winner Jake Reed (70-73), who shot 1-under 143 over the two days.
