Point Park men's golf in second place after Rd 1 at Edward Jones Shootout

APOLLO, Pa. -- Point Park University men's golf is in second place after the first round of the Edward Jones Shootout hosted by Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday at The Links at Spring Church. The final round is Sunday at 8 a.m.
The Pioneers shot a team score of 304 over the first 18 holes. Tournament host Carnegie Mellon leads the field by nine shots with a score of 295. St. Vincent is in third place at 305, and Penn State-Behrend is fourth at 308.
Senior Collin Holmes fired a team-best score of 74 for Point Park and is in seventh place individually. The 4-over par effort led four Pioneers players in the 70s.
Diego Ortiz and Max Kaminsky each shot 76 and are tied for 13th. Eric Poplowski is in 19th place with a 78. Ben Kennedy came in with an 81 over the first 18 holes.
Competing as individuals were Noah Zamagias with a 77 and Michael Popovec with a 79. They are tied for 16th and 23rd, respectively.
