Quicksilver's par-3 No. 8 makes Post-Gazette's 'Dream 18' list
Aug. 9, 2010
PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Post-Gazette golf writer Gerry Dulac is naming his 'Dream 18' this summer, and Point Park University's home course, Quicksilver Golf Club in Midway, Pa., had its par-3 eighth hole on the list.
Dulac, the PG's golf writer, is choosing the best 18 holes on public golf courses in Western Pennsylvania for his Dream 18.
Last week, Dulac highlighted Quicksilver's challenging par-3 No. 8 for the Dream 18. Measuring at 199 yards from the black tees, the hole requires a long carry over water to a green that sits downhill. Dulac played from the blue tees, a tee shot that is still very challenging at 167 yards.
Players will experience a very picturesque view from the tee of which Dulac says is "one of the best par 3s in Western Pennsylvania."

Quicksilver, which has been the home course for Point Park men's and women's golf since the program were introduced in the summer of 2009, has been named by the Post-Gazette as the top public course in Western PA on six occasions in the past. The view of the 18th fairway is picuted above.
