Point Park's Elder named KIAC Men's Golfer of the Week (March 25-31)

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University senior Austin Elder has been named the KIAC Men's Golfer of the Week for March 25-31, the conference announced on Monday.
Elder, a native of Warren, Ohio, and a product of Howland High School, won the award for taking medalist at the Berea (Ky.) College Spring Tee-Off March 29-30 with a two-day total of 2-under 142. Elder fired rounds of 74 and 68 to best the field that was made up of all seven KIAC teams, including Point Park.
The 68 in the final round on Saturday was good for 4-under on the day and gave him a two-shot win over Steven Brooks (144) of KIAC rival Asbury (Ky.). Austin led the way for Point Park, which won the team title by 21 strokes over second-place Asbury.
Elder has two Top-10 finishes in the three events he has competed in this year. His season scoring average is 75.00. He and the Pioneers are in action next April 4-5 at the Cedarville Invitational.
