ROUND 1 LEADERBOARD

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- After Sunday's opening round of the Mt. Union Fall Invitational, the Point Park University men's golf team is tied for second place of eight teams. The final round will feature 18 holes on Monday.

Point Park shot a team score of 301 -- its best of the year so far -- and is one shot back of team leader Otterbein University. Sunday's first round was at Tannenhauf Golf Course. The event shifts to Alliance Country Club for the final round.

Also shooting a team score of 301 was former AMC member Walsh University. Mt. Union is in fourth at 304.

Point Park juniors Austin Elder and Alejandro Bernardini are both tied for second individually after shooting 73 in the first round. The individual leader is Blake Foutty of Walsh, who shot an even-par 72.

Collin Holmes is tied for 13th after and a 76, and the Point Park score was completed with James Daley's 79. Michael Popovec shot a 90.

The Point Park squad is comfortable on the Ohio soil as four of its five competitors are from the state. With the exception of Bernardini from Mexico, the others are from Warren (Elder), Youngstown (Daley), Avon Lake (Holmes) and Findlay (Popovec).
