Point Park's Annecchiarico named KIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Sept. 11, 2012 at 9:40 p.m. ET

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University senior forward Matt Annecchiarico has been named the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played Sept. 3-9. The native of Woodbridge, Ontario, scored one goal and picked up an assist in Point Park's 8-0 win at Berea to win the award.

Annecchiarico registered the game-winning goal when he scored in the 18th minute at Berea. It was an important goal to establish control for the Pioneers (1-2, 1-0 KIAC) in a game that was played on even terms to that point. He also recorded an assist later on to finish with three points on the day.

Annecchiarico is a four-year starter for the Pioneers and an all-conference second-team pick last year as a junior when he had seven goals and 17 points.

He and the Pioneers return to action with their home opener Sept. 12 vs. Allegheny (7 p.m.). The busy week continues with two key KIAC games at Asbury (Sept. 14) and at Brescia (Sept. 15).
