Wido Sagerer represents Point Park men's soccer as NAIA Scholar-Athlete

PITTSBURGH – Point Park University men’s soccer player Wido Sagerer has been named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete this year. The native of Amtsberg, Germany, is a civil engineering major with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.91. Sagerer’s GPA leads all men’s fall-sport athletes at Point Park.

The NAIA Scholar-Athlete award is earned by juniors and seniors who a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and have been at their institution for at least one year. It is the highest academic honor given out by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Sagerer played in 16 games as a defender in the 2010 season, and he made two starts. He helped the Point Park defense compile a goals-against average of 1.81, and the Pioneers were 8-9 on the year.
