Point Park and Shawnee State play to scoreless tie in AMC play

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio  -- Point Park and Shawnee State played to a 0-0 tie in an American Mideast Conference men's soccer game Saturday. Even after two overtime periods, neither team got on the scoreboard in the defensive battle.



Shawnee State (5-4-1 overall, 1-3-1 AMC) held a 20-17 advantage in shots over Point Park (1-9-1, 0-5-1).

Point Park goalkeeper Zeke O'Donnell (Butler/Butler) earned his second shutout of the season after making five saves in 110 minutes of work. O'Donnell is pictured left.

Shawnee State goalie Kevin Fischer played 110 minutes and made five stops.

Francis Tabi (Kumasi, Ghana), had the most scoring chances for Point Park with four shots. Matt Annecchiarico (Woodbridge, Ontario) had three shots.

The Pioneers play host to Mountain State for a non-conference game Monday at Founders Field. Game time is 4 p.m.
