EDWARD CHILD -- Men's Soccer Assistant Coach
10th season at Point Park
Edward Child is in his 10th year as an assistant soccer coach at Point Park University. Child's first year at Point Park was 2005, and he spent a total of five years when he was an assistant coach for both the Point Park men's and women's soccer teams. The 2014 season will be his fifth year as solely a member of the men's soccer coaching staff.
Child has more than a decade of experience as a professional soccer player and most recently played for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of USL Pro. Child earned All-American honors at the University of Tampa where he completed a bachelor's degree in exercise science in 1998.
Child served as head coach for the Carlow University women's soccer program from 1999-2002, and he later served as an assistant for the Quaker Valley High School boys' and girls' teams. He is a graduate of Hampton High School in Pittsburgh.
