PITTSBURGH -- For the fourth week in a row, the Point Park University men's soccer team is ranked in the NAIA Top 25 Poll, and Pioneers check in at No. 22 in the ratings released by the national office on Tuesday (Oct. 14).

Point Park has had an average ranking of 22nd in the last four weeks since breaking into the poll for the first time ever Sept. 23. Since then, the Pioneers have been No. 22, 23, 21 and now back to 22.

Point Park (8-2, 2-0 KIAC) has won four in a row and eight of its last nine games to remain nationally ranked. The Pioneers had only one game between Monday and Sunday of last week to factor into this week's poll, a 4-1 win at Shawnee State.

Point Park did drop down one spot in this week's poll after being ranked No. 21 last week, the highest ranking ever for the program. The only team to pass the Pioneers was Reinhardt (Ga.), which beat then-No. 14 Union (Ky.) to move up from No. 24 to No. 18. Union is ranked No. 20 this week. Twenty four of the teams remain the same with only No. 25 Hope International (Calif.) entering the poll this week.

With Point Park at No. 22, it gives the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference two ranked teams along with No. 3 Rio Grande (9-1-2, 2-1 KIAC). Still the only team to beat Rio Grande this year was Point Park with a 2-1 victory in which it led, 2-0, on Sept. 20. The KIAC is one of six conferences with multiple ranked teams.

Point Park will have played four games before the next Top 25 Poll comes out Oct. 14. One of those is already in the win column for the Pioneers, a 10-0 win over PSU-Beaver at home on Monday. The Pioneers host Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday at 6 p.m. for Senior Night before visiting St. Catharine (Ky.) and Brescia (Ky.) on Friday-Saturday.
