MONTGOMERY, W.Va. -- Point Park University men's soccer increased its win streak to four in a row with Tuesday's non-conference road victory at West Virginia Tech, 2-1.
Lucas Silva scored two more goals -- and they came just two seconds apart in the first half -- to give the Pioneers (4-1, 0-0 KIAC) all the lead they needed.
Silva, who has scored four points in each of the last three games, scored at 11:38 and 11:40 of the first half to give Point Park a 2-0 lead before 12 minutes were gone.
Silva, from Sao Paoulo, Brazil, and the reigning KIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, has scored all four of the Pioneers' goals the last two games. He scored both goals in a 2-1 win over UNOH on Saturday.
WV Tech cut the lead to 2-1 on its only goal of the game, which came in the 62nd minute, but Point Park held on. The Pioneers held a 10-8 advantage in shots.
Pioneers keeper Zak Borzovoy, who was named the KIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week with a 2-0 record and a career-high 13 saves in the OT win over UNOH, picked up two saves for the win in 90 minutes.
