EDWARD CHILD -- ASSISTANT SOCCER COACH
Edward Child is in his fifth season as assistant coach for the Point Park men's and women's soccer programs.
Child has more than 10 years experience as a professional soccer player and most recently played for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer League Second Division. Child earned All-American honors at the University of Tampa where he completed a bachelor's degree in exercise science in 1998.
Child served as head coach for the Carlow University women's soccer program from 1999-2002, and later served as an assistant for the Quaker Valley High School boys' and girls' teams.
A graduate of Hampton High School, Child holds a United States Soccer Federation National B coaching license.
Child is the Director of the Athletic Club at the Carnegie Library of Homestead.
MELISSA MEIGHAN -- ASSISTANT SOCCER COACH
Melissa Meighan is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Point Park men's and women's soccer programs.
A former two-sport athlete at Point Park, Meighan was a four-year starter for the Pioneers' women's soccer team from 2004-07. A native of North Versailles, Meighan was also a member of the Point Parrk softball team.
As a soccer player, Meighan was an All-AMC performer as s senior in 2007. The Point Park women's soccer program attained varsity status in 2005, and Meighan was a key member or that inaugural team.
On the softball field, Meighan had her best season as a senior in 2009. She was named honorable-mention All-AMC with a .305 batting average.
Meighan was a three-time NAIA Scholar Athlete during her time at Point Park.
