EDWARD CHILD -- Men's Soccer Assistant Coach
8th season at Point Park
Edward Child is in his eighth year as an assistant soccer coach at Point Park University. During that time, he was an assistant coach for both the men's and women's soccer teams for four years from 2006-09 and exclusively with the men's team for the last three years of 2010-12 under Jeroen Walstra.
Child has more than a decade of experience as a professional soccer player and most recently played for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer League Second Division. Child earned All-American honors at the University of Tampa where he completed a bachelor's degree in exercise science in 1998.
Child served as head coach for the Carlow University women's soccer program from 1999-2002, and later served as an assistant for the Quaker Valley High School boys' and girls' teams.
A graduate of Hampton High School, Child holds a United States Soccer Federation National B coaching license.
Child is the Director of the Athletic Club at the Carnegie Library of Homestead.
