No. 3 Rio Grande routs Point Park in NAIA men's soccer matchup

RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- NAIA No. 3-ranked Rio Grande scored three goals in each half to rout Point Park University, 6-0, in a non-conference men's soccer game on Sunday.
Rio Grande (7-1-1) scored in the first five minutes and the last five minutes of the opening half to build the 3-0 lead. The gap widened right away in the second half for Point Park (3-5-1) when the Red Storm put in a goal 42 seconds into the half.
Point Park continued its tough schedule versus the highly ranked Red Storm. The Pioneers' five losses on the year have come versus teams that are a combined 21-2-5 (.839) after beating Point Park.
Luiz Filho had three goals for Rio Grande, and Pau Delgado Rodriguez scored twice. Rio Grande is a former American Mideast Conference opponent of Point Park. The teams had not played since 2008.
