PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University junior defender Frazer McKinlay was named the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played Sept. 17-23, the league announced on Monday.
McKinlay, a left back from Perth, Scotland, played all 180 minutes in Point Park's two games last week. McKinlay was a key defensive player in the Pioneers (4-4, 3-0 KIAC) allowing only one goal in those games.
Point Park opened the week with a 1-0 loss at Grove City Sept. 21 but rebounded to get a 2-0, shutout win over Daemen to even its record at 4-4 overall.
McKinlay is in his first year at Point Park after transferring from NCAA Division II Concord University. There, he was a two-year starter and team captain.
