DLYAN GRUNN -- Men's Cross Country
Oct. 25, 2011
Dylan Grunn has been the top performer for the Point Park men's cross country team this year. He is a junior from Honesdale, Pa., and he has really progressed in this his third year in the program.
Grunn has a couple of top-10 individual placements so far this year with those coming at Walsh (7th) last week and at Pitt-Greesnburg Oct. 1 (8th). Another high finish was just outside the top ten at Waynesburg Sept. 10 (11th).
Grunn's best time of the year came at the Carnegie Mellon Meet, a competition that annually has the toughest field that the Pioneers face. Grunn had a time of 27:56, which tied his career-best time also set at last year's AMC Championship Meet.
Grunn's performance has helped to fill the void created by some injuries to some of Point Park's top runners. He has been the top finisher for Point Park in four of the six races, including the last three. Grunn and the Pioneers visit the Unaffiliated Conference meet Nov. 5 in St. Louis, Mo. There they will get the chance to advance to nationals.
