NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- Sarah Austin, a sophomore from Sweet Valley, Pa., led the Point Park University women's cross country team Saturday with a time of 21:46 at the Walsh Invitational.
Point Park finished seventh of eight teams and also got good performances from sophomore Lindsay Dill (Erie/McDowell) at 22:17 and senior Makenzie Smith (Butler/Butler) at 22:23.
Austin's time was good for 42nd place while Dill and Smith came in 51st and 52nd, respectively.
"It was a nice race for our women's team," said Point Park cross country coach Jim Irvin. "Lindsay was battling the flu, so her time was slower than usual, but overall it was a good performance. Martine Saul ran her best race for us, so that really helped the team placement."
Saul, a sophomore from Augusta, Ga., completed the 5K race is 24:36 while Leah Bubeck (Moon/Moon Area) had a time of 24:21.
Other Point Park runners included Leticia Henry (25:38), Crystal Woods (28:52), Tiffany Lehman (31:09) and Nansay Benansio (34:32).
Point Park takes a week off before concluding its season Nov. 7 at the AMC Championship Meet hosted by Cedarville.
