Freshman Keri Rouse (pictured), from Greensburg, Pa., was the second finisher for the Pioneers with a time of 23:57 and a placement of 169th. Junior Martine Saul from Augusta, Ga., finished in 190th place at 24:51.

Also competing for Point Park were Kayleigh Townsend (29:53), Lyndsay Monaco (29:37) and Carina Jollie (31:30).
The Pioneers did not have their full compliment of runners Saturday in the 5K race that included 261 runners. Sarah Austin and Leah Bubeck had to miss the race due to academic obligations. Two other key runners -- Justine Michael and Carina Jollie -- were affected by Michael's injury. Michael went down with an injury midway through the race, and Jollie stopped to aid her teammate on her way to finishing well off her usual pace.
The Pioneers will take next week off before visit the Walsh Invitational on Oct. 23 for their first AMC event of the year. Point Park has four more weeks into the regular-season-ending AMC Championship Meet Nov. 6 at Houghton.
