Henry named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Point Park University women's cross country runner Leticia Henry was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes by the national office Friday.
Henry, a sophomore from Ellicott City, Md., and a graduate of Howard High School, was one of 254 women's runners who made up the 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Cross Country Scholar Athletes.
The announcement of the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes was made one day in advance of the NAIA Men's and Women's Cross Country National Championships in Vancouver, Wash.
Henry ran every race this year and turned in a season-best time of 23 minutes, 37 seconds at the AMC Championships Nov. 7.
Nominated by each institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify for scholar-athlete status.
