The AMC Meet was hosted by Houghton College, and Michael was the top finisher for Point Park. The sophomore from Gainesville, Fla, who transferred this season from Florida Southern, turned in a career-best time of 20 minutes, four seconds to set a Point Park record for a 5K.
Michael, who placed 39th individually, knocked 42 seconds off her previous-best time of 20:46, which was established while at Florida Southern.
The Pioneers set another record Saturday as they had two finishers under 21 minutes for the first time ever. Joining Michael under the 21-minute mark was junior Sarah Austin at 20:53. With what was a career-best 5K, Austin finished in 55th place.
Junior Lindsay Dill was the third Point Park runner to finish, and she did so with a season-best time of 21:33. Freshman Keri Rouse (23:00) and senior Carina Jollie (23:05) completed the Pioneers' top five.
