Point Park women's cross country opens season at Westminster, places 6th of 10

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Point Park women's cross country team opened its 2010 season Saturday by placing 6th of 10 teams at Westminster's Fisher Invitational.

Junior Lindsay Dill (pictured) from Erie, Pa., and McDowell High School, was the top finisher for the Pioneers. Dill's time of 26 minutes, 38 seconds in the 6K race was good for 35th place. Newcomer Justine Michael, a sophomore transfer from Florida Southern, was 37th at 26:53.

Point Park's top five was rounded out by junior Sarah Austin (27:23, 46th), senior captain Carina Jollie (27:30, 51st) and junior Martine Saul (28:41, 56th). The top seven included sophomore Leah Bubeck (28:58, 70th) and freshman Keri Rouse (30:30, 87th).

The Pioneers visit the Waynesburg Invitational for a 6K race next Saturday at 11 a.m.
