Point Park-Gannon DH rescheduled for March 24

March 16, 2010 (1:45 p.m.)

PITTSBURGH -- The Point Park-Gannon softball doubleheader that was postponed twice last weekend has been rescheduled for March 24. The non-conference twin bill will be played at Point Park's Lind Field with the first game starting at 3 p.m. Point Park (4-1) hosts Geneva in its home opener Thursday.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Point Park completed its softball spring trip by winning two of three games Thursday. The Pioneers (4-1) beat Mary Baldwin 9-0 and 11-0 and lost to Cabrini, 2-1. Abbie Heigel tossed a no-hitter in the opening game to highlight the last day of the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic.

Poor field conditions wipe out games in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Point Park softball team's split doubleheader at Myrtle Beach, S.C., was unable to be played Wednesday due to rain and poor field conditions. No games were played for the second day in a row. Point Park's schedule has been adjusted to include three games Thursday. The Pioneers play Mary Baldwin (11 a.m. and 4 p.m.) and Cabrini (2 p.m.).

Day 2 of Fast Pitch Dreams washed out by rain

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- All softball games scheduled for Tuesday at the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic were cancelled due to rain. Point Park (2-0) was leading Bowie State, 12-1, in the first game of a doubleheader, and a make-up date for that twin bill is uncertain. The Pioneers continue play Wednesday with games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The event planned a rain date for Friday.

Point Park takes two from Cabrini to open season

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Point Park University opened the 2010 softball season by winning both ends of a doubleheader with Cabrini on Monday. The Pioneers won the first game, 4-3,in eight innings, and they won the second game, 2-1. The Pioneers (2-0) will play a total of eight games in Myrtle Beach.
