Manovich, Dorunda, Robertson choose Point Park softball

PITTSBURGH – Point Park softball coach Michelle Coultas recently announced the commitments of three freshmen recruits for the 2010 season.
Coultas (pictured left) is pleased to add Courtney Manovich (Murrysville/Franklin Regional), Danielle Dorunda (Warren/Warren) and Kelsey Robertson (Frostburg, Md./Mountain Ridge) to the team next year.
Manovich is a WPIAL all-section first baseman who helped Franklin Regional High School win the WPIAL title last month. The Panthers won their first 25 games on their way to the championship, and Manovich had the game-winning hit in the title game.
Dorunda (pictured left) is a third baseman who led Warren High School to the District 10 title game two weeks ago. At one point during the season, the District 10, first-team all-star had a batting average over .500 and led the Erie area in home runs and RBIs.
Robertson (pictured below) is a right-handed pitcher from Frostburg, Md., who posted a 12-3 record and a 1.14 earned-run average for her Mountain Ridge High School team this past season. In 92 innings pitched as a senior, she had 120 strikeouts and 18 walks. Robertson’s career totals include a 48-16 record and a 1.29 ERA.
Point Park was 22-14 in 2009, and the Pioneers missed the American Mideast Conference playoffs by one game with a 10-10 league record. Adding three solid players will help the Pioneers build on the momentum they created in Coultas’ third year at the helm.
