PITTSBURGH -- The Point Park University softball team won both games of an exhibition doubleheader versus SUNY-Canton Saturday.

The Pioneers, who are currently conducting fall workouts, won the first game 9-0 and took the second game, 8-4.

In the first game, pitchers Abbie Heigel and Kelsey Robertson combined to allow only one hit the first five innings.

The Point Park offense was led in game one by freshman Danielle Dorunda, who hit a home run, and Lindsey Pesanka (pictured left) and Christie Schroeder, who each had two hits.

In the nightcap, sophomore pitcher Marlena Carnicella pitched the first three innings and did not allow a run.

The Pioneers were 22-14 overall and 10-10 in the AMC last year.
