Point Park volleyball has three Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for 2013

PITTSBURGH -- The Point Park University volleyball team had three players named Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes for the 2013 season with seniors Chelsea Katkich and Nicole Wurstle and junior Kelsey Veydt making the grade.
There were a total of 391 volleyall student-athletes in the NAIA who earned the award this year. Juniors and seniors with a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher earn the award. Wurstle is a repeat winner while Katkich and Veydt got the award for the first time in their careers.
Wurstle, from Valley City, Ohio, and Buckeye High School, is a senior right-side hitter with a 3.94 GPA in biological sciences. Katkich, from Imperial, Pa., and West Allegheny High School, is a senior outside hitter with a 3.52 GPA in intelligence and national security. Veydt, from Cecil, Pa., and Canon-McMillan High School, is a junior defensive specialist with a 3.63 GPA in sports, arts and entertainment management.
