Oberacker, Caluori make AVCA All-Northeast Region Team from Point Park

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University volleyball seniors Lindsey Oberacker (Erie, Pa.) and Livia Caluori (Uzwil, Switzerland) were named to the 2012 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Northeast Region Team, as announced by the AVCA on Thursday (Nov. 29).
Oberacker is a senior outside hitter from Erie, Pa., and McDowell High School. This season marks her third time on the all-region team. She is also a four-time all-conference player and an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American from last year.
Oberacker had another strong season as a senior with a team-high 396 kills to go along with 342 digs and 72 blocks. She was also the top passer for the Pioneers with a receive percent of .982.
Caluori is a senior middle hitter from Switzerland. She transferred this year from the University of Zurich, and she quickly became one of the top players in the region.
The 6-3 Caluori, a three-year member of the Swiss National Team, ranked 9th in the NAIA in total blocks with 159 and 11th in the country in hitting percentage at .364. She also totaled 342 kills to place second on the team behind Oberacker.
Oberacker and Caluori will have their names forwarded for NAIA All-American consideration, which will take place this week at the national championship by the All-American committee. For the complete listing of all-region honorees, visit the AVCA website at the link above.
