FLORENCE, Ky. -- Emily Meng had a big week for Point Park University and was selected the KIAC Volleyball Setter of the Week for matches played Aug. 31-Sept. 6, the conference office announced on Monday (Sept. 7).
Meng, a 5-10 junior from Indianapolis, Ind., averaged 8.25 assists per set, 3.0 digs per set and compiled a .300 attacking percentage in an all-around week for the Pioneers. Point Park went 2-2 at its Battle of the Boulevard Sept. 4-5.
In the four matches on the week, Meng posted 41 assists versus Lawrence Tech and Taylor, 30 assists versus West Liberty and 20 versus IU East.
With Point Park's lineup reduced due to injuries, there were also many duties for Meng outside of running the offense. She had double-digit digs in three of the four matches including a high of 17 versus Taylor. She even chipped in 10 kills on the week to help the attack and did so at at .300 percentage.
Meng and the Pioneers visit NCAA Division II schools West Virginia Wesleyan and Alderson-Broaddus on Tuesday and Wednesday for their next matches.
