WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. -- No. 24-ranked Point Park beat Alice Lloyd (Ky.) in a KIAC showdown of preseason conference favorites on Saturday to improve to 9-0 and remain as one of four unbeaten teams in NAIA DII women's basketball.

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park is ranked No. 24 in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll released Tuesday by the national office. The undefeated Pioneers (8-0) are one of five unbeaten teams in the country.

WILBERFORCE, Ohio -- Point Park stayed unbeaten at 8-0 with a 77-68 road win at Wilberforce on Monday night. Samantha Weir had 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Katresa Savisky added 16 for the Pioneers, one of seven unbeatens in NAIA DII.

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park freshman center Samantha Weir was named the KIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 11-17, announced the conference on Monday. She averaged 17.5 ppg, 14.5 rpg and 5.0 bpg in two games on the week.

Pioneers opens season with victory at WV Tech

MONTGOMERY, W.Va. -- Point Park opened its women's basketball season on Saturday with a 68-50 win at WVU Tech. The Pioneers forced 34 turnovers and held WVU Tech to 30-percent shooting. Teresa Davis had a game-high 17 points.
