Point Park University women's basketball schedule announced featuring 27 games

PITTSBURGH -- The Point Park University women's basketball schedule for the 2011-12 season has been announced, and the Pioneers open their season under first-year coach Tony Grenek Nov. 8 at Mt. Vernon Nazarene.
Point Park, which has four starters back from last year's 14-13 team, is scheduled for a total of 27 games, 14 of which will be in American Mideast Conference play.
The Pioneers will play 11 home games at CCAC-South Gymnasium, 14 road games and two games at the Rio Grande Tournament Nov. 11-12.
Point Park will play a home-and-home series with Mt. Vernon Nazarene, La Roche, Rio Grande and Penn State-Fayette. The Pioneers have single games at Carnegie Mellon, at Fairmont State and at Pitt-Greensburg.
The American Mideast Conference schedule includes a home game and a road game versus each league member -- Carlow, Houghton (NY), Daemen (NY), Roberts Wesleyan (NY), Walsh (OH), Wilberforce (OH) and new AMC member Fisher (MA).
Point Park will visit Fisher, located in Boston, on Dec. 1. Fisher visits Point Park Feb. 12.
Nearly every game will be broadcast live on internet radio via the Point Park student station WPPJ-AM 670. Each broadcast will be simulcast live on the MSA Sports Network. A broadcast schedule will be announced in the future.
