Profile: Veseleny has been a solid role player for the Pioneers, and she is one of four seniors who will need to provide leadership on this year’s team. She earned a starting role midway through her sophomore season and started 26 of 27 games as a junior. As a junior, she had career highs of 5.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 30 assists and 25 steals. She is one of four returning starters in 2011-12, and she will once again vie for starting role this year. Veseleny’s best traits are her good head for the game and her ability to score and rebound when needed. At 5-8, she is a swing player who can play on the wing or at the “four” position.
2010-11: In the most extensive playing time of her career, she started 26 of 27 games with solid averages of 5.2 ppg and 4.3 rpg. She scored in double figures twice with 11 points and six rebounds vs. Notre Dame (OH) and 10 points and season-high eight rebounds at Notre Dame (OH). She also had eight boards in a big win at Houghton and chipped in eight points and seven rebounds at Fairmont State.
2009-10: Veseleny earned 14 starts in 26 games, and she scored in double figures six times. She led Point Park with a career-high of 14 points at PSU-Fayette. She made 6 of 7 field goals that game. Veseleny had 13 points on 5 of 7 shooting from the floor and was 3 for 3 from long range vs. Wilberforce. She was 3 for 3 from distance and scored 10 points at Shawnee State. She set a career high with nine rebounds at Mt. Vernon Nazarene.
2008-09: She was one of a dozen players who made up the playing rotation in 2008-09. She gave the Pioneers solid minutes off the bench as a freshman while playing the No. 3 and No. 4 positions. She played in 22 games and made four starts. She had season highs of nine points and nine rebounds in a start vs. Roberts Wesleyan. Veseleny tallied eight points and eight rebounds vs. SUNY-Canton.
High school: A 2008 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School…was a two-time WPIAL all-section player…earned three letters…was also all-section in softball. Personal: Born Dec. 31, 1989…daughter of Mark and Sandra Veseleny…majoring in journalism and mass communications.
