No. 24 Point Park versus Wilberforce postponed, make-up date TBA

Dec. 5, 2013 at 11:00 p.m. ET

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. -- No. 24-ranked Point Park University had its women's basketball home game with Wilberforce (Ohio) University postponed on Thursday, and the make-up date is TBA.

The game between the Pioneers (8-0) and Bulldogs (1-11) was postponed because the Wilberforce team never made it to CCAC-South Gym for the scheduled 7 p.m. tipoff.

The Bulldogs, hailing from near Dayton, Ohio, were stuck in the Interstate-70 accident that backed up traffic south of Pittsburgh for miles on Thursday evening. CBS Pittsburgh reported that a tanker truck tipped over on I-70 causing traffic be delayed for hours. Tipoff was delayed for more than an hour before it was decided to postpone with the Wilberforce team still over an hour away.

No. 24 Point Park's next games is at home Saturday for a KIAC showdown with Alice Lloyd (Ky.) at 1 p.m.. Point Park and Alice Lloyd were chosen as co-favorites in the KIAC preseason coaches' poll this year. Alice Lloyd is led by center Ariel Nickell (29 ppg, 14 rpg) and point guard Carla Booth (20 ppg).

Saturday's game will be broadcast live on the Point Park Sports Network with Live Video and simulcast on MSAsports.net with audio only.
