McKEESPORT, Pa. -- The Point Park University women's basketball team reached the 20-win mark for the second time in program history and the second year in a row with Sunday's 68-48, non-conference victory at Penn State-Greater Allegheny.

The Pioneers (20-5, 10-4 KIAC) were in control from the start, and used their bench liberally with 11 players getting at least 12 minutes of action.

The only other 20-win season in school history was last year's 23-7 mark. At 20-5 this year, the Pioneers need one more win to tie the program standard for wins in the regular season. With the victory, the Pioneers bounced back from Saturday's 49-48 home loss to KIAC opponent Berea (Ky.).

Teresa Davis led Point Park with a team-high 16 points on 6 of 10 from the field and 3 of 4 from 3-point range. The junior guard/forward from Vermilion, Ohio, also added seven rebounds and four steals.

Senior guard Emily Schartner had a strong, all-around game with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. She knocked down 3 of 7 from outside the arc, and the Pioneers made 7 of 20 treys as a team.

Katresa Savisky gave the Pioneers three double-digit scorers with 12 points, and Ja'Nia McPhatter added nine points highlighted by going 5 for 5 from the foul line.

Davis scored the first seven points of the game as the Pioneers raced out to leads of 7-0 and 16-8 the first few minutes. PSU-Greater Allegheny (13-12) did manage a 19-19 tie midway through the first half as Point Park went to its bench. But the starters returned to the game to end the first half on a 16-3 run for a 38-25 lead at the break.

Point Park bumped the advantage to 20 points with a 9-2 run to start the second half as the lead was 47-27 with 17:42 remaining.

The Pioneers ended up shooting 35 percent from the field although the starters shot 48 percent and the subs shot 15 percent. PSU-Greater Allegheny was held to 33-percent shooting and made 24 turnovers. Taylor Fulton had 17 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lead the Lions although she was 4 for 21 from the floor.

Point Park will try to tie the team record for regular-season wins at non-conference Salem International on Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET. SIU will provide Live Video & Live Stats. For game coverage, click here.
