No. 25 Point Park women win at PSU-Fayette, 75-50, Monday night

UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- Point Park University women’s basketball won a non-conference game at Penn State-Fayette, 75-50, on Monday night to improve to 15-2 on the year.

The Pioneers were ahead, 41-20, at the half and used its entire bench in the 25-point victory. Backups got a lot of time in the second half for Point Park, which improved to 9-2 in road games.

Freshman center Baylee Buleca, from Franklin Regional High School, had a team- and career-high 12 points on the night to lead the effort off the Pioneers bench.

The Point Park bench scored 38 points, and the Pioneers' starters totaled 37. Kelly Johnson (11 points) and Alexa Xenakis (10) paced the starting lineup in double figures, and Kayla Kiriau chipped in eight points.

Celina DiPietro eight points and five rebounds off the bench, Natasha Moss scored five, and Carly Corcoran and Vianka Cotton scored four apiece.

Point Park, ranked No. 25 last week in the NAIA DII Top 25 Poll, will next play Wednesday in a home game against Penn State-Beaver at CCAC South. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 pm.
