Point Park women's golf takes 4th place at Westminster Invitational

Emily Slifka placed 5th at Westminster to lead Point Park women's golf.
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Point Park University women's golf placed fourth of eight teams on Saturday at the Westminster Invitational at New Castle Country Club.
Emily Slifka led Point Park with an 89 as one of just five players in the field to break 90. Slifka placed fifth individually and was just two shots out of a tie for third. Esther Durling of Grove City took first place with an 80.
Caroline Collins tied for 12th with a 95, and Alena Lancia tied for 15th with a 97 as Point Park's other top performers. Lauren Martauz (102) and Chloe Callison (110) rouded out the Pioneers' competitors.
Point Park had a team score of 383, which was one shot out of third place and NCAA Division II Clarion at 382. Carnegie Mellon won the team title with at 370, which was three shots better than Mt. Union.
It was the first tournament of the spring season for the Pioneers, who will compete in the St. Vincent Invitational on Tuesday at Glengarry Golf Links in Latrobe, Pa.
