Point Park women's golf finishes eighth at Allegheny amid challenging field

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Point Park University women's golf team finished in eighth place of eight teams at the Allegheny College Invitational held Sept. 29-30 at The Country Club of Meadville.
The Pioneers shot around their usual scores, but it was the toughest field of teams that Point Park women's golf has ever competed against. In attendance were three NCAA Division II schools, two strong NCAA Division III schools, and a couple of schools from Canada, including team champion the University of Toronto.
Point Park 371 in the first round and 363 in the second round. The University of Toronto shot 321-332 to take first place.
Senior Karina Palmberg was the top competitor for Point Park finishing in 17th place individually. She shot 84-87--171. Emily Slifka (93-89) and Caroline Collins (92-90) both tied for 27th at 182.
Chloe Callison (102-97), Keri D'Angelo (114-114) and Lauren Martauz (94-100) also competed for Point Park. The Pioneers continue the fall season Oct. 7-8 at the Robert Morris (Pa.) University tournament.
