Point Park gets first win in program history with victory at Grove City tourney

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Point Park University women's golf team won its first-ever tournament on Saturday as the Pioneers were first of three teams at the Grove City Invitational.
The Point Park women's golf team is in just its third year of existence after being introduced in 2009. Led by Lauren Martauz's 92, Point Park carded a team score of 404 for its first victory. Martauz is a freshman from Youngstown, Ohio, and she tied for first individually.
Freshman Caroline Collins, from West Middlesex, was next on the team with a 95. Emily Slifka shot a 100, and Rowan Lewis turned in a 117 to complete the Point Park team score. Also competing were Ashley Funkhouser with a 118 and Taylor Cormas with a 122.
The Grove City tournament concluded the fall season for the Pioneers. Point Park's fall results included being second at Ursuline, second at St. Vincent and third at Northwestern Ohio.
