JEFF ALLEN -- Assistant Golf Coach
Jeff Allen was hired as an assistant coach for the Point Park men's and women's golf teams prior to the 2009-10 season. He has been in the golf industry for over a decade.
Allen is the teaching professional at Grand View Golf Club, in North Braddock, Pa., and he has held a teaching certificate from the United States Golf Teacher's Federation for the last five years.
Allen is also a volunteer coach for the West Penn Minority Junior Golf Association, which has as its goal to teach life skills through the game of golf and prepare young people for the college experience.
Allen earned a bachelor's degree in integrated marketing communications from Point Park in 2008. In 1981, he completed an associate's degree in visual communications from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Since 1985, he has been the owner of Allen Studio, a graphic design firm located in Pittsburgh.
MARK PERHACS -- Assistant Golf Coach
Mark Perhacs was hired as an assistant for the Point Park men's and women's golf teams prior to teh 20091-0 season. He has several years of experience as a coach, and he was a two-sport athlete at Point Park.
Perhacs finished up his career as a two-sport athlete at Point Park in 1999. Perhacs was a senior captain and a four-year starter on the Pioneers' men's soccer team. He also played basketball for two years. Perhacs earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Point Park in 2000.
An avid golfer, Perhacs recorded his first-career hole in one recently. He used an 8-iron to ace the 11th hole at Grand View, a 180-yard par 3.
Perhacs' coaching experience includes several years as a youth soccer coach for the Steel Valley Soccer Club. He has been an age-group commissioner for a number of years and is the coach of two teams.
For the last two years, Perhacs and his business partners have operated GPR Solutions, an independent insurance brokerage for personal and business clients.
