Point Park women's soccer has four Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for 2013

PITTSBURGH -- The Point Park University women's soccer team had four players named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2013 season. The award is earned by juniors and seniors with a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the Pioneers this year were senior Lauren Vernail (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg-Salem HS)) and juniors Kari Kowalski (Harrison, Ohio/Harrison HS), Megan Kuntz (Newville, Pa./Big Spring HS) and Amanda Mikolay (North Versailles, Pa./East Allegheny HS).

Vernail, a senior midfielder from Greensburg, is a repeat winner of the award with a 3.97 GPA in intelligence and national security.

Earning the honor the first time were junior midfielder Kowalski with a 3.59 in business management, junior forward Kuntz with a 3.75 in cinema production and junior defender Mikolay with a 3.81 in accounting.
