Point Park's Anna Shaw named Capital One Academic All-District First Team

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University women's soccer goalkeeper Anna Shaw has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team in the College Division as selected and announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Friday.
The award regonizes top student-athletes for their combined performance athletically and in the classroom. Candidates must have at least a 3.30 GPA and be a standout player on the field. Student-athletes are voted onto the Academic District teams by members of CoSIDA.
The College Division First Team is comprised of student-athletes from schools that are NAIA, Canadian and Junior Colleges. Shaw and the other 12 members of the Academic All-District First Team will advance their names to the ballot that will be voted on for Capital One Academic All-American consideration.
Shaw is the only goalkeeper on the 13-person First Team, which also includes four players at defender, midfield and forward. Shaw is a sophomore from Mingo Junction, Ohio, who carries a 3.65 GPA in Intelligence and National Security.
Shaw played in 16 games this year with 14 coming as a starter. She has a goal-against average of 2.50 and has made 113 saves.
