Community Classes

The Department of Performing Arts Community Classes at Point Park University offers NON-CREDIT classes in theater, dance and music for youths, teenagers, adults and local college students. Part of the Conservatory of Performing Arts, we operate several programs:

YEARLY PROGRAMS

Mini-Spring Term: 2014 Non-Credit Class Schedule  April 28 to June 9, 2014

  1. Community Classes in Performing Arts (dance, acting and singing) 
  2. Pre-Professional Dance Program (for high school students and older)

PORTFOLIO ONE-DAY WORKSHOP

  1. Coming soon in fall 2014
In this intensive one-day workshop, students will learn how to include works in their applications to be more competitive for scholarships. Stop-motion and animation timing techniques will be demonstrated. Students will design their own clay characters that can be used for their animation portfolio. 

          SUMMER DANCE

          1. International Summer Dance - June 23 to Aug. 2, 2014 (3 or 6 weeks)
          2. Summer Dance Workshop - July 21 to Aug. 1, 2014  (2 weeks)

          SUMMER FILM

          1. Screenwriting Camp - July 7 to July 11, 2014 (1 week)
          2. Camp Hollywood - July 14 to July 24, 2014 (2 weeks) 
          3. Traditional Animation Workshop - July 21 to July 25, 2014(1 week)
          4. Digital Animation Workshop - July 28 to Aug. 1, 2014 (1 week)
          5. Sound Camp "The Art of Sound" - Aug. 4, to Aug. 8, 2014  (1 week)

          SUMMER THEATRE

          1.  Summer Movement Workshop  - July 7 to July 26, 2014 (3-week camp)

              ABOUT CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS

              Please DO NOT make a payment until you are registered and have a University ID number/ account. All credit card payments must be placed into your Community Class Account. The University will no longer accept credit card payments directly. We have arranged for a third party vendor to accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover Card when payment is made online through QuickPay. You will be charged a 2.55% service fee by the vendor for this service. This fee will be in addition to tuition charges. Payment by E-Check (your debit card) will be available online at no cost to the payer. Since the system does not inform us of your online payment or show up immediately, please email, fax or mail in a copy of your payment receipt.  Thank you.
