Orientation Day : – Monday, June 20, 2011 - The first day - all students will report to the Ballroom on the third floor of Lawrence Hall for orientation by 9:00 a.m. Placement classes will begin at 10:30. All students are required to attend the first two days of classes in order to be placed in the appropriate dance level.  Students who are unable to attend the first two days of classes should report to the summer dance office when they arrive to receive a placement form.  

Resident Students:

Check-In:  Report to the first floor of Academic Hall from Third Avenue between the hours of 11:00 and 3:00 on Sunday, June 19 to check-in.  Students must also have their university identification photo taken during check-in hours. Baggage carts will also be available.  Students arriving by vehicle can park on Third Avenue or the Boulevard of the Allies.  

Currently, students under the age of 18 will be housed in Conestoga and Pioneer Halls.  Both buildings are seven story suite style residence halls that accommodate 91 residents in Conestoga and 72 residents in Pioneer.  Both Conestoga and Pioneer are located within two buildings from the dance studios on Wood Street.  The floors are co-ed, but the suites themselves are single sexed. Each suite consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchenette which includes a refrigerator and microwave.

Late Arrivals :  If you are arriving after 4:00 p.m., please contact this office so we can generate a list in order to prepare a temporary access card since you will not be able to get your ID after 4:00.  Your identification card is also your room key, which is scanned onto a lock followed by a pin code for access.    

Meeting : There will be a mandatory meeting for all arrivals in GRW1 Dance Studio on the first floor at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner and a brief walking tour of Pittsburgh.

Mail – Family and friends may send mail to residence during their stay.

Check-Out: 

Three Week Students: Two classes are held on Saturdays from 10:00 to 2:30.  However, students attending the first three weeks may check-out on Friday evening, July 8 or Saturday, July 9.  

Six Week Students: Students attending six weeks may check out on the evening of Saturday, July 30 after 5:30 p.m. 

Performances:

Thursday and Friday, July 28 & 29 at 7:30 p.m.
