Screenwriting and Camp Hollywood

camphollywood Not only will you learn how to make great TV and film stories, but you’ll write, direct and edit your own short film. 

During the first week, you will learn the tools that uncover the mysteries of storytelling for television and film.  By the end of the week, you will have written your very own short original screenplay.  During weeks two and three, you will fine tune your script, as well as, learn the essentials of how to make a great movie. You’ll learn how to operate the Sony PD-150 digital video camera and how to use Final Cut Pro editing software to polish your production. At the end of the week, all the films made in the class will be shown at a mini-film festival.  You will also work on the crew of several of your classmates’ movies—maybe even land a starring role.

Please note: Some examples and films used in the class may include R-rated material.

Students 16 and older may choose to live on campus in Point Park University residence halls that are supervised by a resident advisor.

All facilities are monitored by a security staff 24 hours a day.
