Assistant/Associate Professor - Head of Private Voice
The Theatre Department in the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University is seeking a full-time assistant/associate professor in Musical Theatre Voice. Position will serve as Head of Private Voice, overseeing private voice instructors for acting and musical theatre students and developing the voice program. This is a tenure–track appointment beginning in the Fall, 2016. Applicants must have a terminal degree in music or its equivalent, with relevant theatre and/or professional experience. Experience teaching at the University level and evidence of ongoing creative work is preferred. Special consideration will be given to candidates who are knowledgeable in multiple styles and periods of musical theatre with technical knowledge/pedagogical skill to train students in classical and contemporary Broadway singing as preparation for careers in the industry.
Additional duties include advising and recruitment, as well as university and departmental committee service.
