Full-time Assistant Professor - MFA Low-Res Screenwriting & Playwriting Faculty Position
One full-time, tenure track position available to begin in August 2015. The Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University offers a graduate MFA program in Writing for the Screen & Stage, which provides students the ability to focus on screen (television, film and new media) or stage writing while creating a diverse portfolio of dramatic work. The two-year program provides online instruction during the traditional fall and spring semesters and requires students to participate in three on campus residencies. The successful applicant will teach online graduate level screenwriting and/or playwriting courses, teach graduate theory and/or mechanics courses, mentor thesis projects, help plan and participate in the residencies as well as teach in the undergraduate screenwriting program and potentially teach courses in the University’s core curriculum.
Requirements: MFA or related terminal degree in screenwriting, playwriting or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will also have professional writing experience and a record of teaching at the university level. Preference will be given to those applicants with experience teaching in an online environment.
