Assistant Professor - Cinema & Digital Arts (Editing and Post-Production): One full-time, tenure track position available to begin in Fall 2011. The Cinema and Digital Arts department offers undergraduate programs in cinema production, digital arts and screenwriting, which focus on narrative storytelling and stress collaboration and specialization. The Cinema and Digital Arts department has over 225 full-time students and is part of Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts, along with departments in Theatre and Dance.
The successful applicant will teach introductory, intermediate and advanced editing courses. Special consideration will be given to candidates with a background in sound design. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include committee service, student advising, mentoring advanced projects, supervising internships and providing guidance for the direction of the editing and sound concentration.
Requirements: For a tenure-track appointment an MFA or other appropriate terminal degree in film production or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will also have significant professional experience and a record of successful teaching at the university level.
