The position:

Assistant Professor of Mathematics: The Department of Natural Sciences and Engineering Technology of Point Park University seeks applications for a tenure track position as an assistant professor of mathematics for Fall, 2011.

Responsibilities will include teaching courses for majors and non-majors, advising, curriculum development, university-wide service and ongoing professional development. Point Park serves a diverse student population and the willingness to teach both day and evening courses is expected. The successful candidate will need to develop new courses and revise existing upper level courses for the department's engineering technology and mathematics/secondary education majors. Cooperation with other faculty in ongoing, multi-level assessment and program development is expected.

Requirements: Successful candidates must have demonstrated excellence in teaching a broad range of courses to a diverse student population.  A Ph.D. in Mathematics is required. Knowledge of and a willingness to use course management software are expected. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
